Sparta is a cit-state in Ancient Greece thats located on the River Eurotas. It rose, in 650 B.C. and became the dominant miliraty power in the region durring the time of the Greco-Persian Wars. But Sparta was a place that was built on its social structure. Sparta had kings and queens that ruled their communities and created the structure of government for the citizens. All men were to be soldiers, fighting the endless battles between many Persian empires. Other jobs were done by the extremly large slave population. Spartans carved the path for the thriving culture that was created in their time, which makes them very important to the overall history of Ancient Greece. This also led, or helped, the discovery of the democracy and new forms of government.
